Highbridge

If you don’t think your ready to fight thee next Seymour yet then level up on the highbridge before you attack him, there’s plenty of machina to go around. Seymour is rather easy this time through however. There’s one last save sphere at the end of the bridge.

Seymour Natus (Mortibody): Like the last Seymour, this one will cast spells constantly, and his little friend up front (Mortibody) will cast some too (much weaker). Make sure you have all the members who can use the Trigger Command to talk to Seymour do it! Tidus and Auron both gain double attack power and Yuna gains double Magic Defense. The Strategy I use it to destroy Mortibody constantly. It will suck HP from Seymour each time you kill it, so if you kill Mortibody you will effectively destroy Seymour. Because all the attacks they use are Magic based it is a good idea to use Reflect if you have it. If you don’t and you’d like to make the battle much easier just level up on the highbridge until you get it. Using Aeons on Seymour isn’t too effective though, as he will banish them from battle after one turn. Only bring an Aeon into the battle if you have an overdrive for Yuna. Next to Reflect in the Sphere Grid is Dispel, which will also come in very handy during this battle, as Seymour will cast Protect on himself. Once his health gets low he will start to use Flare, a very powerful magic attack that deals tons of damage. My suggestion: use reflect, or destroy him really quickly (but that’s pretty much a given).

After you defeat Seymour Natus you and your party will rendezvous back out in Macalania Woods.


Macalania Woods

MacalaniaHead away from the campsite in search of Yuna and Kimahri, the two missing party members. Go straight forward at the first intersection to find Kimahri standing watch over Yuna. Then head over and talk to Yuna.

For the first time Yuna and Tidus will express their love for each other, and you will get to watch a really cheesy, underwater kissy float scene that is just too picture perfect to seem at all real. Enjoy ;). After the FMV you can head back to camp and meet up with the team. Yuna will inform them that they’ll leave at dawn.

At dawn you can make for the Calm Lands. Follow your team east.


Calm Lands

Calm LandsWhen you roll over the hill Lulu will give a spiel about the Clam Lands before you enter. Afterward you can head down into the Calm Lands. It takes a long time to get anywhere, so be prepared.

The first place you want to go is the center of the Calm Lands, where you will find Belgemine in the middle of a crater. Go into the center and talk to her. It’s a good idea to have your Overdrive at max for Yuna so you can easily win. Challenge her again and she will use Shiva. That means you can use Bahamut. Take him out and pull a Mega Flare on her ass to really lower her health well. It will make the battle much, much easier. If you can do it twice the battle is over. If you win you’ll get 30 Power Spheres. Even if you lose you will also receive the Aeon’s Soul, which will allow you to raise your Aeon’s Attributes.

Now go to the little settlement in the middle of the Calm Lands, marked by a save point on the mini-map. It’s actually an Agency. Once you get there a man named Zuke will find you and tell you that you have been blamed for the death of Kinoc. They have been ordered to kill you and your party on the spot. After he leaves talk to all thee members of your party and then leave the Agency. Now make for the North East corner of the Calm lands to continue your journey.

You’ll now arrive at two bridges that you must cross to continue your quest. After the first bridge some Guado guards will stop you and tell you that you must go with them. After you refuse they will send Defender X after you.

Defender XDefender X: Try any strategy you want to defeat him, as there is nothing irregular about this boss. He will attack you and you must attack him. If you can’t do it though there is a secret/cheap way of beating him. The strategy it to have Tidus use Provoke on Defender X. The result will be that Defender X will only do one attack (Blast Punch) which takes away half of Tidus’ HP, so he’s incapable of doing any real damage if you continue to use Provoke.

After the battle you can continue across the bridge following the red arrow. As you cross the bridge Yuna will stop and stare off into the distance, and Tidus explains how he now knows why she does it.
