Final Fantasy VII

Midgar

Just before you parachute off the Highwind you’ll get an opportunity to switch up your team if you’d like, but chances are your team will already be set up.

After the drop, follow Cait Sith underground and use the Save Point next to your teammates. Talk to Cait Sith to get him to open the underground passageway for you and climb down. Below are a few maps and some directions on the paths to take to grab all the items.

Make your way down the ramp on the right and up the ramp at the other end. Head across the pipe to the left to find an Elixir. Go across the other end of the pipe to find a Megalixir. Go back to the ladder you first climbed down and go down the stairs this time.

At the bottom of the ladder make your way to the other ladder off in the distance. There’s a chest at the top of this ladder containing an Aegis Armlet. Go back down the ladder towards the ladder you came down before and go to the right. As you jump towards the chest in the distance the ground below you will break.

Climb up the ladder on the left side. Walk around to the doorway on the far side of the platform. The chest on the right contains an Elixir, the one on the right, a Starlight Phone (Whoop-dee-do). Climb down the ladder to the lower level and jump onto the duct on the right side of the screen. Follow it around to a ladder and climb up to find a chest containing Max Ray.

Go back down the duct, hop onto the platform, climb the ladder to the top level, and take the stairs on the left side of the duct you used to come down. At the top of the stairs you will find a Save Point (save your game) and a doorway. Once you continue through the doorway and through the duct, go north and you will be thrust into battle against the Turks for one last fight.

The team parachuting into Midgar. A little tough to see...
Cait Sith's secret entrance into the Midgar sewers.
Further into the shortcut under Midgar.

Turks

Note: If you’ve done the side quest in Wutai this battle is optional, and you will be given a choice from Elena before you engage in battle. I’d recommend doing the fight just so you can steal from them. The items they carry are fantastic.

Make sure you steal from all three of the Turks before you kill them. Rude has a Ziedrich, Reno has a Touph Ring, and Elena has a Minerva Band. Even if you’ve stolen these items from them in the past, you can steal more of them during this fight. Reno’s attacks cause confusion, Elena’s too,  so make sure you have your two Ribbons equipped and be ready to Esuna whoever the third person is if they happen to be affected by it. They will all leave at the same time, so just focus on bringing one of them down.

Battle with the three Turks under Midgar.

HP: 28,000 (Rude) + 25,000 (Reno) + 30,000 (Elena)
Reward: Elixir

From here you can head towards the screen like in the last tunnel, except this time there will be items to rewards you along the never-ending path. 6 screens down is a Power Source, two more is a Guard Source, two more is a Mind Source and a Magic Source, and one more gets you W-Item Materia. Head back to where you fought the Turks and head up.

At this point you can either choose to go to the Shinra Building to grab some items, or skip past it.  To go to the Shinra Building go right at the first fork, and then left at the next. Climb the ladder and you’re there. If you want to skip this part, scroll down.

Shinra Building

As you approach the Save Point you will be met Cait Sith babbling on about the Sister Ray. Save your game and proceed into the Shinra Building. Climb the stairs to the second floor and open the two chests in the shop to find Pile Bunker and Master Fist. Hop in the elevator and proceed to the top of the building.

You can enter the door on the left and go down the stairs to obtain the Behemoth Horn. It’s quite a way down, and then you have to come back up.

Jump on the elevators on the right side of the screen. Head to the 63rd floor and find the room with the Grow Lance in it. Then head to the 64th floor. Go scouring through the lockers in the north to find a Phoenix Down, Ether and HP Shout, Cait Siths Ultimate Weapon. If you put 250 gil into the machine when you first came to Shinra the machine will now spit out a Mind Source and a Speed Source when you bang on it.

Now make your way back down to where you fought the Turks. Go up and to the left, instead of to the right (to the Shinra Building). You’ll arrive at a large tower. Climb up it to the streets up top and you’ll be thrown into battle.

Proud Clod

Proud Clod is a pretty easy boss. He has multiple target points, aim at the one to the side to destroy his armor and then hit him with standard attacks. His attacks don’t hit for all that much, although, his cannon attack isn’t too bad. You will be able to see it coming a mile a way, as he lines it up well before he shoots at you with it.

Proud Clod can't hit for shit.

HP: 60,000 + 20,000 (Jamar Armor)
Reward: Ragnarok

Head north once the battle is over. On the next screen you will find two chests containing an Elixir and a Mystile. Save at the Save Point. There is a chest just up ahead which contains Missing Score, Barrett’s ultimate weapon. You have to have Barrett in your party to see it. Put Barrett in your party at this Save Point, climb the stairway and grab the chest, and then switch him out again. Talk to Cait Sith at the top of the stairs and follow him the rest of the way up.

Note: It's impossible to obtain Missing Score from this point on if you go past it.

All three Hojo forms are fought one after the other, without exiting the battle, so be ready.

Hojo

Hojo’s first form is pretty standard. He summons two beasts to help him fight. He’s not really weak to anything, so just use standard attacks to bring him down. Ignore his two little friends unless you have some MP you are willing to spare one magic paired with an All.

Hojo's first form has very little HP.

HP: 13,000
Reward: - None -

Hellectic Hojo

The second form of Hojo has two arms on the sides that you can attack. Don’t waste your time on them though, as they just regenerate when you kill them. The hard part about this form is the status effects he throws your way. Be ready with fast heals and equip your Ribbons on your party members. Esuna works wonders if you don’t have Ribbons.

Don't aim for the left or right arm. Only Hojo.

HP: 26,000 + 24,000 (left arm) + 5,000 (right arm)
Reward: - None -

Lifeform Hojo

Lifeform Hojo’s attacks are a whole lot tougher, and the status effects just keep coming. Don’t let any of your party members’ health get low, and use standard attacks to bring him down. Limit breaks will flow too, making him go down that much easier.

Hojo's final form.

HP: 30,000
Reward: Power Source
