Final Fantasy VII

Junon

Make sure you when you arrive under Junon that you restock on supplies, upgrade your weapons and armor if necessary, and save.

Head to the beach in the bottom left corner of the screen. A scene with a dolphin will be shown and a fight will ensue.

Map to Junon.

Bottomswell

Any melee characters won’t be able to hit this boss with their standard attack so make sure all characters are equipped with some Materia if they need it to attack. Bottomswell has a move called Shell of Water. It works similar to the Pyramid move earlier in the game, but it requires magic to destroy it. While it’s on a party member it will slowly leach health off of them. Just use Lightning or Ice or something to take it off. Also be wary of a move he has called Big Wave that hits all party members and does significant damage. If you have low party members make sure to fill them up preemptively as having to revive your fallen comrades really slows down the battle…

Bottomswell fight in the city of Junon.

HP: 2,500
Reward: Power Wrist

Revive the young girl after the battle. There’s really nothing to the breathing game, it’s pretty self explanatory and incredibly boring. Let the bar fill all the way up into the red and then exhale into the little girl.

The old man will take the young girl up to “rest for a while”. In the mean time you can do the same. At the entrance to Under Junon is a lady in a red shirt. Talk to her and she’ll offer you a place to stay for the night.

When you wake up in the morning your team will be standing out front in a small gathering. Walk up the stairs to be met by the young girl you saved yesterday.

She’ll take you to 'Mr. Dolphin' where you’ll get to play another super exciting mini game. Just give it a bunch of tries until he lands you on the small ledge and then hop off on the left side.

Walk under the Highwind (the big ship in the video) towards the camera. Make your way to the small control panel on the moving platform towards the screen and activate it to move down. The entrance to Junon is just in front of you.

Do as the guard says as you enter the building. He’ll give you a quick tutorial on how to do the formations and movements later on. Practice up if you’re not used to it.

This part of the game used to get me every time: the parade scene. You’ll start off standing off in the back waiting for your queue to go in. Do exactly like the soldier before you does. Hold down Cancel and run your ass to the bottom of the screen. Line up with the other soldiers quickly and stop running. Your steps should pretty much line up with theirs. It’s easier to make it with enough time to spare if you run towards the right hand side of the screen before you run down to the bottom.

Rufus will do some more talking for a while. After Rufus and Heidegger are done yapping you get to go through another training session. Just press the buttons that are yelled out to complete the 'mini-game' successfully.

Junon from afar. I have a Sister Ray attached to my garage.
