After all the talk you’ll finally be left with control of Barrett and can go wandering around. Take Barrett down to the door into Tifa’s execution chamber and try to open it.
After that you’ll get to watch a cool cinematic involving weapon. Give up on the door and go talk to Cait Sith.
At this point you can go and find Yuffie and recruit her to your team if you have her. Take a right and head out the open doorway. Yuffie will be posing as the reporter. Talk to her to get her on your team. Run towards the screen, and then towards the platform to lift you up to the Highwind. Yay! You have the Highwind now! Well, soon you do at least.
When you’re back in control of Tifa you have to press the correct buttons in a certain order to get out of the chair. Press X to get her to drag the key towards herself, and then press X and Triangle to get her to put the key in her mouth. Press Triangle and Circle to get her to unlock her first hand, then press Circle to take the key out of her mouth and press Square to unlock her other hand. The button to stop the gas is on the back wall; then go and try to open the door from the inside.
Weapon will bust a hole in the wall for you just in the nick of time. Make your way down the building, and run out onto the barrel of the Junon Canon (aka the Sister Ray). At the end of the gun you’ll get yourself into a catfight with Scarlet. Just press circle as fast as you can to win the catfight, not that it has any importance whatsoever. Once the fight is over Tifa will jump from the tip of the canon and be carried safely away by the Highwind, your new ship.
Walk down to the lower deck and talk to your team members – all of them. Once Cid tells you to go prepare yourself in the operations room that’s where you’ll need to head. Talk to the man on the left to form your party. Talk to him to save, and make sure your HP and MP are filled before you leave. Talk to the pilot when you are ready.
