Final Fantasy VII

Forgotten City

You can reach the Forgotten City without going through the Bone Village. Just land the Highwind right beside it:

Shorcut into the Forgotten City.

Take a left where the path splits and follow the path around past the two houses. At this point you need to have the Key of the Ancients. If you don’t have it, you can get it by hopping in your submarine and heading here:

There’s a small crevasse in the rock with the Key of the Ancients sitting inside it. When you touch it, you will receive it.

Location of the Key to the Ancients that you hopefully already have.

Take the upper platform around to where Bugenhagen floated off to and cross the thin platform towards the centerpiece of the room. A small scene will take place, and another after you try and leave.

Bugenhagen at the centerpeice in the middle of the Forgotten Capital.

It’s time to make your way back towards Midgar.

Once you try to board the Highwind a short cinematic will occur showing you weapon emerging out of the water. Make your way to Midgar and stand in front of it. Diamond Weapon will slowly walk his way towards it.

Midgar with the newely equipped Sister Ray.

Diamond Weapon

Diamond Weapon isn’t too difficult, but if you are interested in making the battle extremely easy, equip things that nullify fire attacks.  It starts to count down when it begins to charge its Diamond Flash attack. Diamond Flash hits for a lot of damage and causes silence on all of your party members, so go nuts on it when it starts charging. If you get the chance, be sure to try and steal from him. It’s possible to steal Rising Sun from him. PS: Standard attacks do nothing to him. Limit breaks still go through, however.

3500 AP when you bring him down! Expect some Materia to level.

Diamond Weapon approaching the shore towards Midgar.
The battle with Diamond Weapon.

HP: 30,000
Reward: - None -

Tons of cool cinematics after the fight.

Sister Ray firing using the power of the reactors at Midgar. Rufus' last agonizing moments in Midgar.

Head to the crater to see the impact of the shot from the Sister Ray at Midgar. After the scene head over to Midgar.
